Dr. Hector Chapa is a nationally (USA) and internationally recognized speaker and published author in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He is a graduate of UT Southwestern Medical School with specialty training at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He is a Board Certified ObGyn and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas A&M College of Medicine in Bryan-College Station, Texas and as Clerkship Director for ObGyn for Texas A&M College of Medicine.
His current clinical appointment is at CHI St. Joseph regional hospital in Bryan, Texas.
In 2018, Dr. Chapa became Director of interprofessional education at the College of Medicine. In 2019, he was inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society and in 2020, Dr. Chapa was voted “Educator of the Year” by the Texas A&M College of Medicine Bryan-College Station Campus. He has published over 45 clinical articles, case reports, and medical commentaries covering both obstetrical and gynecological topics.
Dr. Chapa has served as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Journal of Surgical Case Reports.
Dr. Chapa has taught as an invited physician-faculty member in South Africa, Israel, the European Union, The Netherlands, Norway, Ireland, Chile, Columbia, and Canada due to his unique lecture style and passion for evidence based learning.
