Martha Dannenbaum, M.D.Director of Student Health Services
Dr. Martha Dannenbaum is a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1983. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. She completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and then entered private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 15 years. In July 2006, Dr. Dannenbaum joined the medical staff at the A. P. Beutel Health Center and then became Director for Student Health Services in September 2008.
She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to her administrative duties, she continues to provide office-based gynecologic care for the students at Texas A&M.
She is married to Joe Dannenbaum, also class of ’83. They have two children, both Texas A&M graduates from the classes of ’07 and ’09. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, sewing and spending time with her five grandchildren and three dogs. Her favorite Aggie traditions are “Howdy” and Muster. She feels most connected to the Aggie Core Value of Selfless Service.
Richard Darnell, B.B.A., M.S.Associate Director of Medical Facilities and Support
Mr. Darnell completed his bachelors and masters degrees at Texas A&M University. He started at Student Health Services in 1992 in Information Technology. Since then, Mr. Darnell has held 6 different titles and seen numerous changes in Student Health Services and the University. Mr. Darnell oversees the Information Technology, Laboratory, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Radiology units. He is also involved in accreditation and risk management activities and manages the A.P. Beutel Health Center facility.
James “Jim” Fish, Ph.D., FACHEAssociate Director of Medical Services
Dr. Fish is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Services Research from the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Public Health. He completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii and M.B.A. from Chaminade University. He is a board certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has over 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, serving in the United States Air Force as a Health Services Administrator and held key executive positions such as Administrator, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Information Officer.
Dr. Fish joined Student Health Services in 2015. His primary areas of responsibility at the A.P. Beutel Health Center are oversight of medical services, supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses along with management of daily clinical operations.
Randy Parker, M.S.Assistant Director
Mr. Parker completed his bachelors and masters degrees in finance at Texas Tech University. He has over 20 years of experience in banking and corporate finance, and came to Student Health Services in 2005. Mr. Parker is responsible for the operations of the Business Office, Human Resources, and Patient Services.
Although not a graduate of Texas A&M, Mr. Parker has two Aggie sons that graduated from A&M. He is originally from San Antonio, and enjoys biking, running, swimming, and strength training.
Kathryn Bannon, B.S.Administrative Coordinator
Ms. Bannon received her bachelor’s degree in Zoology at Texas A&M University in 2014. She is currently a graduate student at Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Public Health pursuing her Masters in Health Administration. Ms. Bannon started working with Student Health Services as a student worker in 2012. Following graduation, she has been a member of the SHS business office and administrative teams. In her current position, she oversees registration and administrative student workers as well as assists the administrative staff with multiple tasks and projects.
Alyssa Barigian, B.A., M.B.A.Health Communications and Marketing Manager
Ms. Barigian obtained her B.A. in Communication from a small liberal arts college in Holland, Michigan. Upon completion of her degree, she was offered a position at Student Health Services during the summer of 2012. During her employment at Student Health Services, she obtained her M.B.A. with an emphasis in Healthcare Management from West Texas A&M University in 2015.
Ms. Barigian’s primary responsibility includes managing and coordinating the vision of Student Health Services to students, faculty/staff, parents/guardians, and the general public.
As a California native and Texan by choice, Ms. Barigian has grown fond of the Aggie community and is very blessed to have a position at Texas A&M University. Ms. Barigian enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, and is still trying to grow accustomed to the Texas heat.
Chris Cagle, B.S.Clinical Support Specialist
Mr. Cagle received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2013. Following graduation, Mr. Cagle acquired a unique skill set working with stingrays at Sea World, 3D printing machines at a manufacturing facility, and in IT for a school district. Currently, he assists in the management of the SHS electronic health record software and is involved with the National College Health Immunization Collaborative to increase immunization rates among college students.
When he is not striving to promote the “stamp out suffering” culture, Mr. Cagle enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, lifting weights, reading, and playing video games.
Tonya Cochran, R.N., B.S.N., R.D.C.S., C.E.S.Coordinator of Nursing Services
Ms. Cochran completed her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler in 1986. Before coming to Student Health Services in 2010, she was a clinical supervisor for a cardiology group in Webster and Pasadena for 8 years, and has also worked at UTMB at Galveston in the Division of Cardiology for 11 years. Although no longer working in the field, Ms. Cochran has 18 years of experience as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer, and 11 years as a certified exercise specialist with an emphasis on stress testing. Her other work experiences include positions within MICU, home health, the Health Department, and a private family practice.
Ms. Cochran’s primary responsibilities are to serve as the administrative supervisor of the nursing staff. Ms. Cochran also assists Administrative Staff with efficient coordination and operation of all clinical service areas with regard to nursing support. During her time at Student Health Services, Ms. Cochran has developed a strong student worker training program that helps student workers gain real-life experience in a clinical setting.
Judd Moody, B.S.Clinical Informatics Analyst
Mr. Moody has been involved with Health Information Technology for 14 years. He earned his bachelors degree from Texas A&M University and has held various roles within the Division of Student Affairs as a customer-oriented IT professional. In his current position, Mr. Moody is a member of the SHS administrative team and focuses on clinical informatics and process improvement. He oversees all the medical systems that comprise the SHS electronic health record and chairs the Student Health Services Quality Improvement Committee. Mr. Moody is an active presenter on health information technology topics at the ACHA annual meeting and other regional health conferences.
