Rose Brownridge, M.D.


Janice Butchee, D.O.

Dr. Janice Butchee is a graduate of Lamar University and Texas A&M-Galveston.  She later received a medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center's Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Butchee completed a residency in and is board certified in Family Practice.  

After 12 years of private practice, Dr. Butchee joined the medical staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2001.  She currently serves as a provider in the Women's Clinic.


Martha Dannenbaum, M.D. 

Staff Photo: Doctor Martha DannenbaumDr. Martha Dannenbaum is a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1983.  She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio.  She completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and then entered private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 15 years.  In July 2006, Dr. Dannenbaum joined the medical staff at the A. P. Beutel Health Center and then became Director for Student Health Services in September 2008.

She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  In addition to her administrative duties she continues to provide office based gynecologic care for the students at Texas A&M.

She is married to Joe Dannenbaum, also class of ’83.  They have two children, both Texas A&M graduates from the classes of ’07 and ’09.

Patrick Dwyer, M.D.

Dr. Patrick Dwyer received his bachelors degree from Texas State University in 1971 and his medical degree from Autonomous University of Mexico in 1975.  He completed a residency in Family Practice at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and is board certified in Family Practice.

Before arriving at the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2008, Dr. Dwyer served 17 years in private practice and 15 years in the Harris County Hospital District clinic system through Baylor College of Medicine.  Although Dr. Dwyer spent some time as a student at the University of Texas, he considers Texas A&M to be "home" and enjoys working with members of the Corps of Cadets.


Kenneth Hackney, M.D.

Dr. Kenneth Hackney graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1970 and later from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1974.  He completed an internship in Straight Medicine at Scott & White Hospital before specializing in Emergency Medicine and working in Urgent Care for the next 30 years.  Dr. Hackney came to Student Health Services in 2005.

While practicing medicine, Dr. Hackney also served as faculty for the TAMU College of Medicine for 15 years and was the director of the poison control program at Scott & White for 7 years.

Although Dr. Hackney did not attend Texas A&M, his ties to Aggieland run deep as his grandfather was class of 1903 and his father taught here.  His other interests include movies, music and computers.


Audrey Ormberg, M.D.

Dr. Audrey Ormberg graduated from Delaware State College in 1989 and obtained her medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1995.  She later completed a Family Practice residency at the University of Illinois at Ravenswood.  Dr. Ormberg is board certified in Family Practice.

After serving many years as a physician and clinical assistant professor, Dr. Ormberg joined the staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2008.  She has a special interest in women and children's medicine.

Dr. Ormberg enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.  She would most like to visit the Galapagos Islands, Alaska, Egypt, and the Mayan and Aztec ruins. 


William Peterek, M.D.

Dr. William Peterek grew up and attended school in Gonzales, TX.  He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966 and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1970.  Following 32 years of private Family Practice on Galveston Island, Dr. Peterek joined the medical staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2004.

While in medical school, he married Terry Crawford, RN in 1968.  They have three children, two of whom are Texas A&M graduates, and four grandchildren.


Gayle Ponder, M.D.

Dr. Gayle Ponder received her bachelors degree from Erskine College and her medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina.  She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, TX.  Dr. Ponder is board certified in Family Medicine.

Before joining the staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2008, Dr. Ponder did inpatient and outpatient care for three years and was in private practice for five years.  Dr. Ponder enjoys the full scope of Family Medicine, from treating routine illnesses or acute injuries to contraceptive counseling.  She also serves on the Texas A&M Eating Disorders Interdisciplinary Team (EDIT) to help monitor students with eating disorders for medical complications.

Dr. Ponder is originally from South Carolina and has two young children.  She loves working at Student Health Services because she is able to interact with students and help them feel better as well as educate them about their health.


Ann Reed, M.D.

Reed 2Dr. Ann Reed graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1975 and is board certified in family practice.  She later did an internship at Texas Tech in Lubbock, and a residency in Family Practice in Columbia, Missouri.  Dr. Reed practiced in Hazard, Kentucky for one and a half years, and then practiced at a satellite of Mayo Clinic for over 4 years.  After that, Dr. Reed returned to Texas and worked at Scott and White in Killeen for 12 years and came to Texas A&M University in 1997.  She particularly enjoys the “Howdy” tradition and the overall friendliness of Texas A&M students. 

She has been a physician for over 35 years and enjoys doing urgent care, especially minor trauma.   

Dr. Reed enjoys travelling and has been to China and Russia among other places.  She likes to read and is involved in activities involving her Catholic faith.  Dr. Reed has five sisters who live in central Texas with their families.

Edward Styduhar, D.O. 

StyduharDr.  Edward Styduhar graduated from Grove City College, a small liberal arts college in western Pennsylvania, in 1966.  After spending a few years with the U.S. Navy , he obtained his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Following completion of a rotating internship at the former Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he did general medical practice in the outskirts of Tulsa for a brief period prior to moving to Round Rock, Texas where he did solo general practice for 18 years.  Dr. Styduhar then joined a large central Texas multi-specialty clinic in their satellite clinic in Round Rock for a number of years before coming to A.P. Beutel Health Center in January of 2001.  

In his thirty-sixth year of active medical practice, he is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and provides basic general medical office care to the students of this university.  

Married to a native Texan, he has two children, TAMU class of ’98 and class of ’03.   

David Teller, M.D.

Dr. David Teller graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and completed his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) training at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas and a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Teller was in private practice for many years and has served as faculty at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He joined Central Texas ENT in 2006 and is the director of the Center for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His practice includes general ENT services as well.

Dr. Teller came to Student Health Services in 2010.  He serves as a physician in the Specialty Clinic and oversees Emergency Medical Services.


Barbara Tyler, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Barbara Tyler received her bachelors degree from Cornell University, her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine, and her masters in public health from Texas A&M Health Science Center. Her post-graduate medical education was in pediatrics at Scott & White in Temple.  Dr. Tyler joined the medical staff at the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 1985.

In addition to her clinical role at Student Health Services, Dr. Tyler also serves as Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and as Lecturer at the School of Rural and Public Health, both at the Texas A&M Health Science Center in College Station.


William Vota, M.D.

Dr. William Vota received his bachelors degree from the University of California Los Angeles in 1985 and his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 1993. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Dr. Vota served as the Grimes County Health Officer in Navasota, TX.  He later worked in a private practice in Internal Medicine for six years.  After practicing for eight years as an Emergency Room Physician, Dr. Vota joined the medical staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2010.

When not serving the students of Texas A&M, Dr. Vota enjoys photography, cooking, tennis and computer programming.


Bo Xuan, M.D.

Dr. Bo Xuan received her medical degree and masters of pharmacology from Nanjing Medical University in China.  She later completed a residency in Family Medicine at Texas A&M University Health Science Center's College of Medicine in 2006 and joined the medical staff of the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2007.  Dr. Bo is board certified in Family Medicine.

In addition to treating patients on campus and at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center, Dr. Bo serves as a clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center.


Pamela Golub, N.P.

Pam Golub received a bachelors degree in nursing from Texas Women's University and later completed the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  Ms. Golub has practiced nursing for 35 years of which 21 years are as a nurse practitioner. 

Ms. Golub has always had a special interest in women's health.  She came to the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2009 in the Women's Clinic.  Ms. Golub enjoys working with college women as she feels it is a great time for them to learn what is healthy and the truths about being a woman.  Her goal is to keep them healthy so that they can do well at Texas A&M.

Aggieland has always held a special place in Ms. Golub's heart.  She came to Texas A&M as one of the "girls on the trains" that the yell leaders talk about coming to College Station.  Ms. Golub did some post graduate work at Texas A&M, met her husband and has raised an Aggie family.  Her son is a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band class of '06.


Carolyn Stigler, R.N., N.P.-C

Carolyn Stigler completed a bachelors degree in Nursing from Duke University and a masters degree in Maternal-Child Health Nursing from the University of Colorado. Later, she completed a post master's certification for Family Nurse Practioner from Texas Women's University.  Before joining the medical staff at the A.P. Beutel Health Center in 2001, Ms. Stigler served 10 years as a nurse in a rural hospital, five years as a clinical instructor at Blinn College School of Nursing, and a year as a nurse practioner.

She is active in several national and local professional organizations.  Ms. Stigler also enjoys volunteering in the community, playing bridge and golf, and animal training.

Mr. Draper completed a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy at Texas Tech University and a masters degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.  He joined the staff of Student Health Services in 2002.  Mr. Draper's primary responsibilities include oversight of ancillary services: Pharmacy, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Health Education and Emergency Medical Serivces.  

An active outdoorsman, Mr. Draper enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, and coaching youth football.  He also collects old Corvettes.  His favorite Aggie tradition is watching the 12th Man kick-off team at Aggie football games as his brother-in-law was a member of Jackie Sherrill's original 12th Man kick-off team.


Randy Parker, M.S., Assistant Director

Mr. Parker completed his bachelors and masters degrees in finance at Texas Tech University. He has over 20 years of experience in banking and corporate finance, and came to Student Health Services in 2005.  Mr. Parker is responsible for the operations of the Business Office, Human Resources, Patient Services and Marketing.  

Although not a graduate of Texas A&M, Mr. Parker has two Aggie sons that recently graduated.  He is originally from San Antonio, and enjoys running.


Richard Darnell, B.B.A., M.S., Assistant Director

Staff Photo: Coming SoonMr. Darnell completed his bachelors and masters degrees at Texas A&M University.  He started at Student Health Services in 1992 in Information Technology.  Since then, Mr. Darnell has held 6 different titles and seen numerous changes in Student Health Services and the University.  Mr. Darnell is involved in accreditation activities, risk management, information technology and oversight of the A.P. Beutel Health Center facility.

Tonya Cochran, R.N., B.S.N., R.D.C.S., C.E.S., Coordinator of Nursing Services

Ms. Cochran completed her bachelors degree in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler in 1986.  Before coming to Student Health Services in 2010, she served 25 years as a registered nurse at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and in a private cardiology practice.  Ms. Cochran also has 18 years experience as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer, and 11 years as a certified exercise specialist with an emphasis on stress testing.  

Her primary responsibilities are to serve as the administrative supervisor of the nursing staff.  Ms. Cochran also assists Administrative Staff with efficient coordination and operation of all clinical service areas with regard to nursing support.  

When not serving students at Student Health Services, Ms. Cochran enjoys photography, cooking, crafts, decorating and entertaining.


Patsy Luce, CPS/CAP, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Luce completed her Secretarial Science Diploma from Durham Business College. She is a Certified Professional Secretary and Certified Administrative Professional, and is very active in numerous local and international professional organizations.  Ms. Luce began working at Student Health Services in 1971.  She provides adminstrative support and serves as a personal assistant to the Director.

Having served numerous years on the Texas A&M campus, Ms. Luce's favorite Aggie tradition is Aggie Muster.  Most of all, she loves working in a caring environment where medical care is provided for students.
