The Women's Clinic at TAMU is evolving into
the Women's Health Center. The Center is staffed by a board
certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, board certified Family Practice
physicians and a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in women's
health.
The Center offers preventive women's health
services such as routine cervical cancer screening (Pap smear) and
counseling regarding healthy lifestyles.
Additionally the Center has the capability of
evaluating and managing many common health issues encountered by women.
These include abnormal menstruation, abnormal Pap smears, pelvic pain,
ovarian cysts, contraceptive issues, infections, infertility,
perimenopause & menopausal conditions. The Center does not manage
pregnancy, but can diagnose pregnancy and refer for prenatal care. The
physicians at the Center will see pregnant women for non-pregnancy related
problems when appropriate and for postpartum care. The Center has onsite
ultrasound for evaluation of gynecologic problems. A program for HPV
immunization is being developed and should be available starting in the
Fall semester.
The Women's Health Center is located on the 2nd
floor of the A.P. Beutel Health Center.
