Pharmacy

SHS Home >> Health Services >> Pharmacy

The SHS Pharmacy is staffed by registered pharmacists and technicians. The pharmacy serves only the A&M student body.  Pharmacists provide confidential individual counseling on all prescriptions.

We accept prescriptions from ANY MEDICAL PROVIDER licensed in the UNITED STATES in accordance with state and federal law. If you have questions about international prescriptions please contact the pharmacy at (979) 458-8292.

The SHS Pharmacy stocks medications common to the average 18 to 25 year old college student including contraceptive products. If you are prescribed a medication that we do not keep in stock, we may be able to special order that medication for you. Over-the-counter drugs are also available at the pharmacy.

If you wish to transfer an existing prescription (with remaining refills) from another pharmacy to the SHS Pharmacy, please fill out the Prescription Transfer In Form. If you have any questions about this process please call 458-8292.

Our new On-Line Refill system is now available for your convenience.  You will need your prescription number to use the StORR.  If you do not have your prescription number, you may also call the Refill Line at (979)458-8295, and pick up your prescription the next working day.

If you have any questions, please read our FAQ or give us a call at 458-8292

Regarding recent birth control price increases...

Across the nation, all university campuses have seen a dramatic increase in the cost of birth control products.  In the past, the drug companies that make these products offered us a dramatically reduced price.  All companies have stopped offering this discounted price to universities.

At Texas A&M University, we have tried to contain our costs to the students by switching to lower-priced generics and by stocking up on the discounted products. Unfortunately, the supply of discounted products is rapidly diminishing and not all products are available generically. The generic products do cost less than the branded products, but the price is still higher than the discounted price.  We will attempt to continue to control expense to the students with prudent purchasing and business practices.  Much to our regret, we must still increase our prices on these products.
