  • What happens with charges that are transferred to my student account?
    • Transfer to your student account occurs for one of two reasons:
      • At time of checkout, you can request that charges be sent to your student account.
      • If you do not pay for chargeable services on the day of your visit, charges are automatically transferred to your student account. Chargeable services include no-show charges and charges for after-hours visits in addition to charges for health-related items.
    • These charges are transferred to your student account four to five times each semester. In an effort to minimize late fees, the transfers do not coincide with a due date.
    • Once these charges are posted to your account, you are generally given about two weeks to pay. After these charges have been transferred, they must be paid at the Pavilion or via AggiE-Pay.
    • If you have questions about charges you must come to the A. P. Beutel Health Center. To protect your privacy, we do not provide this information over the phone to you or your parents.
    • The date that appears on your bill is not the date service was rendered; rather it is the date that Student Financial Services posted the transaction to your account. These charges typically include visits occurring four to six weeks prior to the posting date.
    • You will not be blocked from registration or graduation unless you have unpaid fees. Make sure to check your NEO email or AggiE-Pay accounts regularly to prevent this.

  • If I transfer charges to my student account or pay with a credit card, can I return later and use another form of payment?
    • Once a transaction has been paid we are not permitted change the payment type.

  • Can I pay with my parent's credit card over the phone?
    • The preferred way to do this is to have your charges transferred to your student account and pay via AggiE-Pay.
    • If necessary, your parents can call the Health Center cashier directly at (979) 845-8255 and verify information to pay your bill.

  • How do crutch rentals work?
    • There is a $45 charge for crutch rentals. This needs to be paid with either your student account or a credit card due to the fact that this $45 will be credited to your account once the crutches are returned in good condition.
    • If you transfer these charges to your student account, please pay the full bill when it appears on your account. If you wait for the charge to refunded, you may be assessed a late fee for the outstanding balance.

  • Can I rent a wheelchair from Beutel?
    • With a $500 deposit you may rent a wheelchair from Beutel. If you are a student, you can do this using your student ID card. If you are a visitor you may pay the deposit at the health center through the Immediate Care area. You will receive your deposit once the wheelchair is returned in the appropriate condition. You must pick up and return the wheelchair between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

  • How do I get copies of my medical records?
  • Why is there a $15 charge on my account when I showed up for my appointment?
    • A $15 charge is applied if you are not checked in 20 minutes before your appointment time. You may have received a second appointment after your first one was cancelled.

  • Why is there a $15 charge for a doctor visit? I thought these were free?
    • If you see a doctor during our After Hours program, a $15 charge will be added to your account. If you see a Specialty Clinic Doctor, there will also be a $15 charge.

  • Will my receipt work as a class excuse?
    • That is up to your instructor. The new TAMU attendance policy is explained at attendance.tamu.edu

  • How do I use my TAMU Student Health Insurance Plan?
    • Before you pay, please tell the cashier that you have student insurance. The cashier will give you a printed receipt to take to our Patient Services office. After the Patient Services office makes the appropriate adjustments, you can take the adjusted receipt back to the cashier for payment.
    • You will also see that after your payment is made, in some cases, there will be a balance on your account. This is because the insurance claims are made four or five times each semester and those balances will be cleared automatically.

  • Can I use my non-TAMU insurance to pay for services?
    • At this time, we only file claims with TAMU Student Health Plan or Graduate Student Health Plan.

  • Why are there charges when I only used EMS services?
    • For EMS billing questions, please contact EMS directly at (979) 458-8317.

  • I am a graduating senior; can I still transfer charges to my SIMS account?
    • According to Student Financial Services, failure to settle all financial obligations may result in your diploma being withheld at graduation. Additionally, a block will be placed on your student account which will prohibit registration in subsequent semesters and receipt of official transcripts. If it is getting close to your graduation date, you should not transfer charges to your student account.

  Information for Parents

  • Can I pay my student's bill with a credit card over the phone?
    • The preferred way to do this is to have charges transferred to the student account and pay via AggiE-Pay.
    • If necessary, parents can call the Health Center cashier directly at (979) 845-8255 and verify information to pay your bill.
  • If I am a parent, where do I go for information on my student's bill?
    • Due to privacy laws, once the child has turned 18 we can no longer discuss any aspect of their medical care. Your student must come to the Health Center and personally inquire about their bill.

 Information for TAMU Departments

  • How do I charge services or wheel chair rentals to a TAMU Department?
    • Any departmental charges must have an appropriate departmental charge authorization form. If you are from the Athletic department, make sure your student signs the form before submitting it to our cashier.
